Welcome! First off, thank you for your interest in learning more about me and my  favorite hikes.

Growing up in Birmingham, I actually wasn’t involved much in Nature outside the occasional trip to the nearby river bank with my dad, brother, and two Boxers. It wasn’t until college where my love for Nature started to blossom.

I attended Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama; a small, rural college town. While attending there, I began hiking at Chewacla State Park nearby on Sundays. The peace that I began to experience when in Nature was something I had never experienced, and really peaked my curiosity. This led me to go hiking every Sunday, using Nature as a safe haven for me to write, dance, exercise, pray... to exist.

Since being introduced to Nature, my love for it has grown immensely. I have been hiking in a variety of places. From the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, to the golden hills of California, to the tropical jungles of Brazil. However, these are a collection of some of my favorite hikes.

Enjoy!

Chewacla State Park

Auburn, Alabama
September 2014

Where it all started

This beautiful state park is where I was first introduced to what Nature is. While attending Auburn University, I found myself looking for a fun Sunday activity to do in order to set my intentions for the week. I decided to go for a walk through Chewacla, and was completely mesmerized by the strong sense of peace that washed over me. I decided to go back the following week to make sure it wasn't a fluke, and surely enough, that same feeling was with me throughout my whole hike (even afterwards as well!) This led me to realizing that Nature was something I really enjoyed being in, and a part of.

Cape Lookout State Park

Tillamook, Oregon
August 2019

Oregon's coast is seriously underrated! When it comes to coastal scenery, I'm a huge fan of backdrops. The aesthetic of this hike, the deep evergreen cliffs cascading onto the ocean, and the fact that it leads straight to the Cape Lookout Beach is such a beauty to behold.

Joshua Tree National Park

Southern California
March 2021

This was my first US National Park visit! What stood out about Joshua Tree was how still everything was. Such a peaceful and serene peace of scenery. I was also blown away at how the stars and galaxies paint the sky at night.

Tijuca Forest National Park

Rio de Janiero, Brazil
August, 2022

I honestly can't think of a more picturesque city than Rio! From the dense rainforests of the Tijuca, to the  geographical wonders of O Dois Irmãos. This was my first jungle experience, and I saw some interesting animals during my time exploring.

Fushimi Inari Temple

Kyoto, Japan
December 2022

The Fushimi Inari Temple stuck out to me because of the thoughtfulness of this hike. Not only was the surrounding forest beautiful, but the pillar of each gate was carefully engraved with various Japanese kanji. The end of this hike was truly special, leading to a gorgeous shrine where vistors pay their respects with a formal clap, bow, and optional offering. A beautiful experience for those with an open mind!
